Ingredients

Scale

Dip Ingredients

  • 1 (8 ounce) package softened cream cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 package ranch seasoning mix (typically about 1 ounce)
  • 1 (10 ounce) can Rotel tomatoes and green chilies, drained
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley or cilantro
  • Dash kosher salt
  • Dash hot sauce, optional

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: Add the softened cream cheese, sour cream, ranch seasoning, drained Rotel tomatoes with green chilies, cumin, chopped parsley or cilantro, kosher salt, and hot sauce (if using) into the bowl of a food processor.
  2. Pulse to Blend: Pulse the mixture for about 30 seconds until the dip is smooth and well combined, scraping down the sides as needed for even blending. Alternatively, you can use an immersion blender or a stand blender to achieve the same smooth consistency.
  3. Chill the Dip: Pour the smooth dip into a serving bowl, cover it with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. This chilling time allows the flavors to meld perfectly.
  4. Serve: When ready, serve the Southwest Ranch Dip chilled alongside fresh vegetables, tortilla chips, or your favorite dipping snacks.

Notes

  • For a spicier dip, add extra hot sauce or finely chopped jalapeños.
  • To lighten the dip, substitute low-fat cream cheese and sour cream.
  • This dip can be prepared up to one day ahead and kept refrigerated.
  • Make sure to drain the canned tomatoes thoroughly to avoid making the dip too watery.
  • Fresh cilantro gives a brighter flavor compared to parsley, choose according to preference.
