Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 package Mint Oreo cookies (about 15.35 oz)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 12 oz white or dark chocolate, melted (for coating)
  • Green food coloring (optional, for white chocolate)
  • Sprinkles, crushed Oreos, or chocolate drizzle for decoration

Instructions

  1. Crush the Oreos: Use a food processor or place the Mint Oreos in a sealed plastic bag and crush them into fine crumbs using a rolling pin until no large pieces remain.
  2. Mix with Cream Cheese: Transfer the crushed Oreos to a mixing bowl. Add the softened cream cheese and stir thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and well combined with no cream cheese lumps.
  3. Shape the Truffles: Using your hands or a small cookie scoop, roll the mixture into 1-inch diameter balls and place them evenly spaced on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Chill: Refrigerate the Oreo balls for at least 30 minutes to firm up. Alternatively, you can freeze them for 15 minutes for quicker chilling.
  5. Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white or dark chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each interval until completely smooth. If using white chocolate, add a few drops of green food coloring and mix until color is even.
  6. Coat the Truffles: Dip each chilled truffle into the melted chocolate using a fork to fully coat. Lift and allow excess chocolate to drip off before placing back on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  7. Decorate: Before the chocolate sets, sprinkle with sprinkles, crushed Oreos, or drizzle with extra melted chocolate for added texture and decoration.
  8. Chill Again: Place the coated truffles in the refrigerator until the chocolate hardens completely, about 15-20 minutes.
  9. Serve and Enjoy: Once firm, the truffles are ready to be served as a delicious, minty chocolate treat.

Notes

  • Make sure the cream cheese is softened to room temperature for easy mixing.
  • You can use either white or dark chocolate for coating, or a mix to suit your preference.
  • If you want a stronger mint flavor, add a few drops of peppermint extract to the cream cheese mixture.
  • Store the truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • These truffles can also be frozen for up to one month; thaw in the fridge before serving.
