Deliciously rich and creamy Mint Oreo Truffles are an easy no-bake treat combining crushed mint Oreos and cream cheese, coated in smooth white or dark chocolate. Perfect for mint lovers and festive occasions, these bite-sized truffles offer a refreshing twist on classic Oreo desserts with optional green coloring and decorative toppings.

Ingredients

Scale

Truffle Base

  • 1 package Mint Oreo cookies (about 14.3 oz)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

Coating and Decoration

  • 12 oz white or dark chocolate, melted (for coating)
  • Green food coloring (optional, for white chocolate)
  • Sprinkles, crushed Oreos, or chocolate drizzle for decoration

Instructions

  1. Crush the Oreos: Use a food processor or place the Mint Oreo cookies in a sealed plastic bag and crush them with a rolling pin until they become fine crumbs.
  2. Mix with Cream Cheese: In a medium bowl, combine the crushed Oreo crumbs with softened cream cheese. Mix thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and completely combined.
  3. Shape the Truffles: Roll the Oreo and cream cheese mixture into 1-inch diameter balls using your hands. Place the formed balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet to keep them from sticking.
  4. Chill the Truffles: Refrigerate the balls for at least 30 minutes, or freeze for 15 minutes if you want to speed up the firming process before coating.
  5. Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white or dark chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth. If using white chocolate, add a few drops of green food coloring to achieve a minty hue.
  6. Coat the Truffles: Dip each chilled truffle into the melted chocolate using a fork to fully coat it. Lift the truffle out to allow excess chocolate to drip off.
  7. Decorate: Before the chocolate sets, sprinkle with decorations such as sprinkles, crushed Oreos, or drizzle additional melted chocolate for an elegant finish.
  8. Chill Again: Place the coated truffles back into the refrigerator to allow the chocolate coating to harden completely.
  9. Serve and Enjoy: Once set, serve these minty, creamy truffles as a delightful dessert or party treat.

Notes

  • Softened cream cheese should be pliable but not melted; room temperature works best.
  • For best results, chill the truffles thoroughly before dipping to prevent cracking of the chocolate coating.
  • Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
  • Freeze truffles for longer storage; allow to thaw in the fridge before serving.
  • Use high-quality chocolate for smoother coating and better flavor.
