Ingredients
- Mini Mozzarella Balls (Ciliegine) – 12 pieces
- Silicone Skull-Shaped Mold – 1 tray (must be oven safe)
- Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the mozzarella balls.
- Prepare mozzarella balls: Remove each mozzarella ball from its packaging and blot them dry thoroughly with a paper towel to remove any excess moisture. Place one mozzarella ball into each cavity of the silicone skull mold.
- Bake the mozzarella: Place the silicone mold with the mozzarella balls into the preheated oven and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese softens enough to be easily molded.
- Press into shape: Remove the mold from the oven and gently press the softened mozzarella balls into the shape of the skull mold using the back of a spoon. Blot off any additional moisture if needed to help shape the cheese.
- Chill and unmold: Refrigerate the molds for about 10 minutes or until the mozzarella skulls have cooled and firmed up. Carefully remove each mozzarella skull from the silicone mold.
Notes
- Use heat-safe silicone molds to avoid damage during baking.
- Make sure to blot excess moisture from mozzarella to prevent sogginess and help molding.
- These mozzarella skulls are best served chilled and fresh.
- You can customize with food-safe coloring or edible markers to decorate the skulls further.
