Ingredients

Scale

Meats

  • 3 14 oz packages little smokies smoked sausages (drained)

Fruits

  • 1 20 oz can pineapple chunks (drained, reserve juice)

Sauces & Condiments

  • 1 16 oz bottle honey teriyaki marinade and sauce (such as Sweet Baby Ray’s or KC Masterpiece)
  • 1 12 oz bottle sweet Asian chili sauce (medium or hot, your preference)

Thickening Agent

  • 4 Tbsp cornstarch (more or less as needed)

Garnishes

  • Sesame seeds
  • Fresh chives

Instructions

  1. Prepare the slow cooker: Spray the crock of a 6-quart slow cooker with cooking spray to prevent sticking and facilitate easy cleanup.
  2. Layer ingredients: Arrange the drained little smokies and pineapple chunks evenly over the bottom of the slow cooker.
  3. Add sauces and mix: Pour in the honey teriyaki marinade and sweet Asian chili sauce over the sausages and pineapple. Gently mix until all the little smokies are evenly coated with the sauce mixture.
  4. Cook the smokies: Cover and cook on the high setting for 2 hours to allow flavors to meld and sausages to heat through thoroughly.
  5. Thicken the sauce: Near the end of cooking, dissolve the cornstarch in just enough reserved pineapple juice to create a smooth slurry. Add this mixture back into the slow cooker and stir well until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency. Adjust cornstarch amount if needed to suit your preference.
  6. Garnish and serve: Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped fresh chives before serving. Keep warm until ready to serve.

Notes

  • If you prefer a spicier flavor, opt for hot Asian chili sauce instead of medium.
  • You can adjust the thickness of the sauce by varying the amount of cornstarch slurry added at the end.
  • Serve these little smokies as a crowd-pleasing appetizer with toothpicks for easy eating.
  • Storing leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator will keep well for 3-4 days.
