Ingredients

Scale

Sliders

  • 6 large eggs, scrambled
  • 8 ounces ground pork sausage, cooked
  • 6 slices thick-cut bacon, cooked and crumbled (about 1 cup)
  • 1 cup (113 g) sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 package (12-count) King’s Hawaiian Rolls

Cowboy Butter

  • 1 recipe cowboy butter, melted and divided (approximately 6 tablespoons total)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven and prepare baking dish: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly spray a 7×11-inch baking dish with cooking spray or grease it to prevent sticking.
  2. Arrange bottom halves of rolls: Slice the King’s Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally. Place the bottom halves evenly into the prepared baking dish, creating a base layer.
  3. Brush with cowboy butter: Pour about 2 tablespoons of melted cowboy butter evenly over the bottom halves of the rolls to add rich buttery flavor.
  4. Add breakfast fillings: Layer the scrambled eggs evenly over the rolls, followed by the cooked ground pork sausage, crumbled bacon, and shredded sharp cheddar cheese to build the savory filling.
  5. Top with roll halves and brush with butter: Place the top halves of the rolls on top of the cheese layer. Brush them with 2 tablespoons of the leftover melted cowboy butter to help the tops brown during baking.
  6. Cover and bake: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and hot throughout.
  7. Remove foil and finish baking: Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 3-5 minutes, or until the tops of the sliders are golden brown and slightly crispy.
  8. Slice and serve: Remove the sliders from the oven. Slice them into individual portions. Brush the remaining melted cowboy butter over the hot sliders or serve it on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • Cook the ground pork sausage and bacon ahead of time to streamline assembly.
  • You can prepare the cowboy butter in advance or substitute with melted butter mixed with garlic and herbs for a similar effect.
  • For extra flavor, add sautéed onions or peppers to the filling.
  • These sliders are best served warm and fresh but can be reheated in a low oven covered with foil.
  • If you prefer a milder cheese, substitute sharp cheddar with Monterey Jack or mozzarella.
