Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Wet Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup melted butter (cooled)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan to ensure the bread doesn’t stick during baking.
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and ground cinnamon until evenly combined.
  3. Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, and cooled melted butter until the mixture is smooth and homogenous.
  4. Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures: Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the bread tender.
  5. Prepare Batter for Baking: Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan. Optionally, sprinkle additional cinnamon sugar on top to enhance the cinnamon flavor and create a slight crust.
  6. Bake the Bread: Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes. Test doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center of the bread; it should come out clean or with a few moist crumbs attached.

Notes

  • For a stronger cinnamon flavor, increase the cinnamon to 1.5 tablespoons.
  • Allow the bread to cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing to ensure clean cuts.
  • This bread keeps well at room temperature for up to 2 days; refrigerate for longer storage.
  • Optional: Sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top before baking for a sweet crust.
  • Ensure eggs are at room temperature for a smoother batter.
